A Praying Church
We’re so glad you’re considering a visit to Christ Community Presbyterian Church. Not only do we strive to be a church that welcomes, encourages, and supports your seeking after God’s will for your life, but we are a church that comes along beside you and prays for you. We believe in prayer, in keeping with our focus of being a church which follows closely the word of God in doctrine and practice. Here’s how our praying is here for you:
- Welcome cards – Not only are they helpful in communication with each worshipper, but we ask for two things: a) Your prayer requests and b) Names you would like on the Breastplate of Remembrance. Our desire is to help bear your burdens as we pray with you and for you and your requests.
- Weekly Prayer requests are assembled from the welcome cards, emails, and from the phone prayer line (voicemail and text) and are sent to the church body via email so the church body can join with you in prayer. The prayer list is brought before Lord at the Wednesday prayer meeting along with the Breastplate of Remembrance.
- The Breastplate of Remembrance is the master list of the gathering of names from private lists of members and friends of the church. For details about the Breastplate of Remembrance, click on this link. The shorter version of explanation is simply the list you have of friends, family, or acquaintances that are not Christians for whom you are praying. Your sharing of your list with us means members of this church will be joining with you in prayer and you can be assured your list will be included in the Wednesday evening prayer meeting as we bring the names of the entire list before God.
- Prayer is an important part of the Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship services because it is a means of grace by which God pours His grace into our hearts, as we pour our hearts to Him in expressing our utter dependency upon Him.
- One-on-one prayer is often found before and after the gatherings of the church body as members care for one another and sense a need for prayer and use the occasion to bear one another’s burden before the Lord in prayer.
- Concentrated prayer for our one-mile radius neighborhood has been a part of this church body since 2023. Following the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit from Acts 1:8, the church’s area of influence, concern, and responsibility is found in concentric circles. Our first area is the one-mile radius, so we have been and will continue to pray diligently for God’s flow of grace upon each family and individual as we bring up each street in this area before God. Of course, we are concerned about the expanded area and pray for our entire city, county, state, and nation but our desire is to be a lighthouse shining the grace of God in the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the first circle and then beyond. This concentration of prayer is found in our regular prayer meetings as well as our quarterly seasons of prayer on a Saturday morning.
- If you have a special or pressing need, our pastors and elders are ready anytime to meet with you and pray with you. Whenever you have a pressing need, you may also find our Wednesday prayer service to be very welcoming to drop everything and pray for you.

FAQ
Have questions? We have the answers!
We are a Bible-believing reformed church where the word of God is held in highest esteem. We believe that God has provided means for each believer to partake of His grace in abundance through the word of God, prayer, and the sacraments. Find out more about what we believe here.
Join us as we reverently and joyfully worship our God through prayer, singing, Bible reading, and preaching. Our Order of Worship reflects the gospel as we begin with adoration of God, which moves us to confession and then to thanksgiving. During our time of instruction, the pastor leads us through an expositional (verse by verse) study of one of the books of the Bible. We conclude with consecration through the taking of Communion. To view a sample order of worship, click here.
The role of our worship team is not to perform, but to engage the congregation in active worship and praise through the singing of traditional and modern hymns, and worship songs.
We encourage people to come as they are and dress in what feels most comfortable.
When you arrive you can expect to be greeted with warm smiles and an open door. Services begin promptly and there are ushers willing to help you find what you need and answer any questions you might have.
We are all about connecting with God and each other. Simply take the first step and join us for the worship service. New membership classes are scheduled during the Adult Bible Study hour as the need arises.
We welcome your entire family to take part in learning and growing towards Christ as a part of our covenant community. We have a nursery for children up to 5 years old and we encourage older children to participate in the worship service with their parents.
