As we covered in Sunday’s message, God takes us through periods of delay to grow our faith. If we get impatient and complain or even if we get weary and take off when God is working, we will miss the opportunity to mature and for our faith to grow and He will just have to take us through a similar lesson down the road. God cares about us too much to let us go through life without faith growing experiences. Therefore, it is important to make the most of every delay in God’s maturing process.

Remember the commercials for Wendy’s Hamburgers where the lady looked at a hamburger
of a competitor and cried, “Where’s the Beef?” I was talking to a pastor friend who was
accused of not preaching grace because he was preaching the whole counsel of God and
not just the accomplishments of salvation by God’s grace. It was as if some in the
congregation were saying, “Where’s the grace?”

Nothing stops the flow of God’s grace in our lives like bitterness. Bitterness is born from a lack of forgiveness. Whenever we dwell on the hurt more than forgiving, bitterness grows and keeps us from enjoying God’s best for our lives.

How do you feel when there is a prayer meeting? Most people blow it off and don’t think they need to attend. Why is that? If God has invited us to pray, promises all kinds of help when we pray, promises blessings if we pray, and then commands us to pray – shouldn’t we be “on ready” to pray?
